Tuskegee-Macon County Head Start/Early Head Start offers a small community experience for our students and staff. We strive to empower our community and our families through meaningful partnerships and education.

We are seeking an Early Head Start Teacher to work at one of our 4 centers located in Tuskegee and Macon County.

ROLE SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the planning, implementation and administration of classroom activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth and well-being of infant and toddler children. Creates a safe and nurturing environment in which 12-month-old through three-year-old children can enhance perceptual, motor and physical development, language and literacy skills, cognitive development, approaches to learning and social and emotional development and relationships, developing age-appropriate social and self-help skills.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent and a Child Development Accreditation (CDA) Infant-Toddler. Must have a minimum of (2) years’ experience working in early childhood education/infants and toddlers. Must have the ability to work with a culturally diverse group of individuals. Must meet criteria for background screening as required for childcare licensing and federal regulations.

HOW TO BE AN A+
  • Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • 3+ years experience working in early childhood education/infants & toddlers.
  • CPR & First Aid Certified
  • Worked for a Head Start program previously
